Giclée

Giclée prints are a high quality archival inkjet print on specialised Fine Art paper.
There are basically two criteria for ageing: the paper and the print. All Hahnemühle papers are extremely resistant to ageing in compliance with DIN 6738 and offer the highest life expectancy of several hundred years. The permanence of the print, i.e. the colour adherence is ink dependent and with UV resistant inks (pigmented inks) can last for more than 80 years.

Hahnemühle Photorag (monochrome prints)
The paper gives muted blacks with even colour reproduction, and excellent detail. The surface has minimal texture with a chalky smooth cotton feel which creates smooth colour gradients.

Hahnemühle German Etching (colour prints)
Hahnemühle German Etching is a traditional copperplate mould-made heavyweight printing paper with a slightly warm base tone and a strong mottled texture. It creates a print with strong colours and deep blacks that feel rich and high in contrast. This is due to the texture of the paper enabling it to hold more ink and capture the light. The white art paper made from 100% alpha cellulose is characterised by its extraordinary velvety tactile feel and its fine, clearly defined felt structure. German Etching is acid- and lignin-free and meets the most exacting requirements in terms of age resistance.
